Swinging with the Stars returns for its fourth year
More Than $423,054 Raised and the Stars Are Just Getting Started! Swinging with the Stars returns for its fourth year as Battlefords Healthcare Foundation’s largest signature fundraising event
NORTH BATTLEFORD, SK — In just three years, Swinging with the Stars has raised more than $423,054 to support equipment at Battlefords Union Hospital, making it Battlefords Healthcare Foundation’s largest signature fundraising event. Following a record-breaking fundraising year, the event returns January 29 and 30, 2027, at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford, ready to take the Battlefords by storm once again.
Presented by River Valley Eye Care, the fourth annual Swinging with the Stars will bring seven local dance teams to the stage, with a goal of raising $90,000 toward a Fluent Pro Console for the hospital’s Operating Room.
Each year keeps getting bigger and better, and the impact reaches well beyond the dance floor. Funds raised over the past three years have supported the purchase of:
• A neonatal CPAP machine for Women’s Health and Birthing.
• A defibrillator for the Operating Room.
• A ventilator for the Emergency Room.
• A Vein viewer for the Operating Room.
Behind that impact are people willing to give their time, share their stories and take a brave step into the spotlight for their community.
“Every year, we are reminded that the most powerful part of Swinging with the Stars is the people who say yes,” says Leanne Ducommun, Executive Director of Battlefords Healthcare Foundation. “Our Stars and Pros give their time, their energy and their hearts to something that will make a difference for others. It takes courage to step onto that stage, share your story and ask your community to stand behind you. They show us that philanthropy comes in many forms, including learning a dance and showing up for your neighbors. Their generosity inspires others to give, and together, that support becomes equipment our healthcare teams and patients can count on. That is what makes this event so special.”
This year’s Stars and Pros are preparing to carry that spirit forward, dedicating their time to rehearsals and fundraising ahead of two exciting evenings of dance.
Meet the 2027 teams:
• Roxanne Prystupa and Teigan Furber
• Dr. Danielle Nault and Alyssa Poitras
• Dr. Brian Nocon and Melany Sander
• Devyn Hope and Jacy Emerson
• Heather Berzowski and Mishele Roche
• Cory Chambers and Haylnn Kahl
• Madalin Barclay and Ivan Shevchuk
With the support of presenting sponsor River Valley Eye Care, fellow sponsors, donors and guests, the Foundation invites the Battlefords and surrounding communities to help make year four the biggest yet. Whether purchasing tickets, supporting a team’s fundraising or becoming a sponsor, every contribution brings the event closer to its goal.
The Preview Evening takes place Friday, January 29, with tickets available for $35 per person. The Premiere Evening follows Saturday, January 30, with tickets available for $85 per person or $680 for a table of eight. Both evenings will be held at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford.
