Stromberg family’s $1 million gift strengthens cardiac care in the Battlefords
NORTH BATTLEFORD, SK — A transformational $1 million donation from the Stromberg family to Battlefords Healthcare Foundation will support cardiac monitoring, healthcare education and heart care technology at Battlefords Union Hospital.
The gift supports a hospital-wide cardiac monitoring and telemetry system, helping healthcare teams monitor patients’ heart activity and respond to changes in their condition. It also provides funding for a new electrocardiogram (ECG) machine, with remaining funds dedicated to future heart care technology.
Beyond equipment, the family’s generosity includes $250,000 for a scholarship fund supporting healthcare education. This investment recognizes that strong patient care depends on both the technology available and the people trained to use it.
“For someone receiving care, a heart monitor represents more than a piece of equipment. It means someone is watching closely, with information that helps guide their care,” said Leanne Ducommun, Executive Director of Battlefords Healthcare Foundation. “The Stromberg family’s generosity supports that care today while investing in the people and technology our community will need in the years ahead.”
By supporting equipment and education together, the donation will create a legacy for patients, families and healthcare professionals throughout the region.
Battlefords Healthcare Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Stromberg family for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to local healthcare.
