Swinging with the Stars Raises a Record $175,215 for Local Healthcare

North Battleford, SK — The Battlefords Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2026 Swinging with the Stars fundraiser raised a record $175,215, marking the most successful year in the event’s three-year history.

Since its inception, Swinging with the Stars has continued to build momentum, raising over $100,000 in its first year, more than $120,000 in 2025, and now surpassing all previous totals with this year’s record-breaking result.

“The growth of this event speaks to what’s possible when community, purpose, and leadership align,” said Leanne Ducommun, Executive Director of the Battlefords Healthcare Foundation. “This outcome reflects the strength of a community that continues to show up with commitment and belief in supporting healthcare close to home.”

The event’s success was driven by months of dedication from community Stars and professional dancers, along with strong support from sponsors, volunteers, and donors. Participants committed significant time to rehearsals and fundraising efforts, contributing to both the financial outcome and the overall experience.

The evening also recognized outstanding team achievements, with Hopak Heroes receiving the Most Funds Raised award. Hall or Nothing was named Judges’ Choice, while Jazz Hands and Oil Cans earned Audience Choice, highlighting the talent, creativity, and enthusiasm showcased throughout the competition.

“This event reflected the generosity and commitment that continues to define our community,” Ducommun added. “The funds raised will support healthcare initiatives in our region, helping ensure care continues where it matters most for patients, families, and healthcare teams close to home.”

Building on this success, the Battlefords Healthcare Foundation has already begun planning Swinging with the Stars 2027 and will soon be inviting the next group of community Stars and professional dancers to take part in the event.
