Meet Madalin Barclay (Star)

Born and raised in the Battlefords, Madalin Barclay is proud of her Ukrainian, Métis, and Scottish roots and the community she calls home. She is the Front Store and Operations Manager at Fisher’s Drug Store, where she has worked for more than seven years. Through her role, Madalin enjoys supporting local organizations, events, and initiatives that make a difference in the Battlefords.
After more than five years away from the dance floor, Madalin is coming out of retirement for Swinging with the Stars 2027! She spent over 14 years Ukrainian dancing with Svoboda, creating lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories along the way.
Making this experience even more special is her dance partner, Ivan Shevchuk, whose older sister was one of Madalin's longtime dance partners. It's a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with her passion for Ukrainian dance while creating new memories.
Supporting local healthcare is especially meaningful to Madalin. Working in a community pharmacy, she sees firsthand the importance of accessible healthcare. Her family also has deep connections to local healthcare, from her grandparents' careers as psychiatric nurses to the compassionate care her loved ones have received at the local hospital.
Madalin is excited to step back onto the stage, challenge herself, and give back to the healthcare system and community that have meant so much to her family.

Meet Ivan Shevchuk (Pro)

Ivan Shevchuk brings 15 years of Ukrainian dance experience to the Swinging with the Stars stage. He has been teaching full dance classes for the past two years and has performed with PFE for three years.
For Ivan, Ukrainian dancing is about more than performing. It's an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the rich Ukrainian culture and traditions that continue to thrive in Canada.
Ivan also shares a special connection with his dance partner, Madalin Barclay. The two grew up dancing together, and his sister, Marusia, was one of Madalin's dance partners for many years.
Now, Ivan and Madalin are bringing that shared history and their love of Ukrainian dance to Swinging with the Stars 2027, supporting local healthcare through BHC Foundation.
