Meet Dr. Danielle Nault (Star)

​

Dr. Nault is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist who has had the privilege of caring for women and families in the Battlefords and surrounding communities for the past seven years.

A Saskatchewan girl at heart, Danielle grew up in Pierceland, a small town a few hours north of the Battlefords. She went on to attend medical school in Saskatoon before completing her residency in Regina, eventually returning to the region to build her career and serve the community she is proud to call home.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys travelling, spin classes, yoga, and going for walks with her dog. While she has absolutely no formal dancing experience, she loves trying new things, learning, and challenging herself — which made Swinging with the Stars both exciting and a little intimidating!

Dr. Nault decided to take on this challenge because she wanted to help raise as much money as possible for the Battlefords Healthcare Foundation. The Foundation has made an incredible impact on the care she is able to provide, helping purchase a multitude of equipment that directly benefits her patients and allows her to provide the best possible care to women in the Battlefords and surrounding area.

She is excited to step outside of her comfort zone, learn some new moves, and hopefully have a lot of fun along the way — all while supporting a cause that means so much to her, her patients, and the community.

Meet Alyssa Poitras (Pro)

Dance has always been a huge part of Alyssa’s life. She grew up dancing at The Dance Connection, where she trained in a variety of styles and developed her love for performing. After graduating from competitive dance, she spent a year dancing with the University of Saskatchewan Dance Team and has continued finding different ways to keep movement and performance a part of her life. She has also spent time coaching spin classes at The Hall Spin Studio, which has been another fun way for her to share her love for movement, music, and community. Most recently, Alyssa joined the Saskatchewan Rush Electric Crew, beginning an exciting new chapter in her dance journey.

Outside of dance, Alyssa is currently working toward her Bachelor of Social Work. She has always had a passion for helping others and being involved in her community, which makes Swinging with the Stars especially meaningful to her.

Returning for her second year as a professional dancer, Alyssa is so excited to experience it all over again. Her first year with Swinging with the Stars was unforgettable, not only because of the dancing, but because of the people, the energy, and seeing the entire community come together in support of local healthcare. It was such a fun and heartwarming experience and one she knew she would want to be part of again.

This year, Alyssa is looking forward to creating something completely new, making more memories, and sharing the stage with another amazing group of dancers and community members. Most of all, she is grateful for the opportunity to use something she loves to help support a cause that makes such an important difference close to home.
