Meet Cory Chambers (Star)

Born and raised in North Battleford, Cory Chambers is no stranger to taking on a challenge. After graduating from John Paul II Collegiate in 2003, Cory left the Battlefords to pursue a professional fighting career and continue teaching martial arts in Saskatoon.
In 2020, Cory returned home to North Battleford and opened Green Dojo Martial Arts, where he is the proud owner and operator. Through his business, Cory shares his passion for martial arts with children, teens, and adults throughout the Battlefords and surrounding communities. For Cory, it's about more than learning how to fight. It's about building confidence, discipline, friendships, and encouraging others to challenge themselves.
That same philosophy is what inspired Cory to say yes to Swinging with the Stars 2027. After years of encouraging his students to step outside their comfort zones, he decided it was time to take some of his own advice!
Supporting local healthcare and giving back to the community where he grew up, returned home, and built his business made the decision even easier.
As for his dance experience? Let's just say Cory is more comfortable throwing punches and kicks than learning dance steps! His closest experience to dancing usually happens while shadowboxing, when the occasional questionable dance move sneaks into a combination.
Cory might not be expecting to be the best dancer on stage, but he's determined to be one of the people having the most fun. And for someone who's faced plenty of challenges in the ring, Swinging with the Stars might just be his toughest fight yet!

Meet Halynn Kahl (Pro)

For Halynn Kahl, dance has been a major part of her life for as long as she can remember. She began dancing at just five years old and continued for approximately 15 years, building countless friendships, memories, and experiences along the way.
Today, Halynn shares her passion for dance by teaching at Annette's School of Dance, where she loves helping the next generation of dancers grow in confidence and ability.
Outside the dance studio, Halynn works at Sakewew Child Care Centre, spending her days working with children. Whether through dance or childcare, she enjoys having the opportunity to make a positive difference in young people's lives. In her free time, Halynn loves being with family and spending time at the lake.
Halynn said yes to Swinging with the Stars because it was the perfect opportunity to combine something she loves with a chance to give back to her community. She believes strongly in the importance of accessible local healthcare and the difference it makes for individuals and families throughout the Battlefords.
Although she brings years of dance experience to the stage, Halynn knows that learning and performing a routine with a partner brings its own unique challenges. She's excited to try something new, step outside her comfort zone, and create lasting memories while supporting a meaningful cause.
